Our Story

Founded in 2015 by husband and wife team Ed and Rani Burke, Seventy Ten Travel is a dynamic and forward-thinking luxury tour operator, travel agency and concierge service. Born with a passion for travel, Ed Burke gained experience at two of the country’s leading tour operators, Kirker Holidays and Bailey Robinson, before launching Seventy Ten Travel in 2015.

In September 2016 Seventy Ten Travel expanded, with the appointment of travel industry experts Ed Coltart and Rosie Kennedy as partners. This expansion enabled Seventy Ten Travel to offer clients holidays to all four corners of the world, including a city and short breaks offering for both able-bodied and mobility impaired travellers. The move reunited the team who previously worked together at leading independent short breaks tour operator, Kirker Holidays.
Tragically in November 2016, Ed Coltart passed away very suddenly after a short illness and is sorely missed. He still however remains very much a part of the company and both Ed Burke and Rosie will continue with the work he started and that they were working towards as a partnership.
Between Ed Burke and Rosie they have a combined experience of almost 25 years within the luxury travel industry, boasting a breadth and depth of knowledge across Europe, Africa, America, Indian Ocean, the Far East and Australasia. With this knowledge and expertise they are able to offer clients unrivalled access to the best services on the ground from their hotel partners and ground agents.

I could not praise them enough. Ed organised our holiday perfectly and then when we could not travel because of Covid he managed to obtain a full refund for us. We will certainly use them again in future for their excellent personal service.

We’d like to say a huge thank you for a really amazing trip – every hotel was extraordinary in its own special way ….. there were so many exceptional experiences and sights along the way too, the kids loved all the wildlife and temples and we all learnt so much about the culture of Sri Lanka….. the train was such a highlight! Supun our driver was fantastic, so full of insights on all the culture, religion, wildlife and tea and a real joy to be around. He was so polite, great with the kids and brilliant in all the logistics and great fun too…

We have used Seventy Ten Travel several times now and are very impressed. Every holiday has been spot on as Ed really listens to what we are after and tries to find the best he can for our budget. We first booked our holidays with Ed after being recommended by a colleague. What impressed us the most with Ed, is his attention to detail and the knowledge he has about the part of the world we were visiting. He would not only recommend the popular tourist attractions but will also suggest off the beaten track spectacular places and he will always go above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements, special travel arrangements and any other special need that we might have. In short Ed made each one of our holiday memorable and we have had a few over the last four years and planning a few more.

When our holiday was cancelled due to Covid-19 they refunded us in full with no questions asked. 

We would have no hesitation recommending Ed as he takes all the stress and worry out of finding a holiday and the best bit within our budget.

I had received a quote for Mauritius from Trailfinders, then I heard about Seventy Ten Travel…Ed not only beat the quote but managed to get us a wonderful room, he helped with car parking, online check in and was available to help when my mother in law was ill whilst we were away. I was really blown away with the service I received and everything whilst we were away exceeded our expectations.

Ed Burke has looked after us for many years. He is unfailingly efficient and always full of very sensible and well chosen ideas for travel. He has the ideal temperament to deal with any crisis and throughout the Covid drama he has been 100% supportive and uncomplaining. He and his colleagues are excellent people and I recommend them.

Wonderful hotel, very slick transfers, reservations made, etc. You thought of everything, it was all organised beautifully and ran like clock work, we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Busy lives and children were making this holiday impossible to get round to; knowing that you understood exactly what we wanted gave us great peace of mind and you made it so easy for us.
